Photon Mouse Focus

Got past the Photon issue of EUFI vs BIOS repo updates.    Using a Photon BIOS guest.    No mouse focus change - have to hit ctl-alt.   So I did TDNF install open-vm-tools.    Reboot.    Still no mouse focus.   How can I move about multiple Photon guests in VMWare workstation 16 without having to hit ctl-alt?

Afaik Linux distros without UI do not have desktop features (mouse, copy&paste) packages support. Existing packages like xf86-input-vmmouse are highly dependent from xorg-server libs. Open-vm-tools support would be nice though. See https://github.com/vmware/open-vm-tools/issues/502.
