Use OVFTool to Convert OVA File Without A Domain

OVFTool keeps failing when I try to convert an OVA image to vmdk, since I don't have a domain on our network, a la vi://hostname.domain.

What should I do?

It's a Mitel Linux Image.

I reinstalled VMware and put in a phony domain at install time. I'm not sure if this made a difference, but I have it working now, it's imported into my VMWare Server (running on a Windows 2003 host).

My problem is now that I don't see how to connect to it while it's running or see video/vga output. I'm using the bridged network adapter, but I'm not sure where to find the VMs MAC address or IP address in my real dhcp server. Should I put it on the second unused (real) nic?

The image is Mitel Standard Linux vMCD r6, based on CentOS.

I'm only running this machine to learn the guest system, so I'm guessing I should just use VMWare Player to explore the system.
