I am trying to deploy a vAPP from an OVA using OVF TOOL . Once done, I would like to get an ID and store that in my application, so I can use it later for other actions, such as destroying the vAPP or taking snapshots of the VMs. I get a TRACK_ID from the output that reads - vim.VirtualMachine:vm-3639
When I try to use this ID later, I cant find a VM with this ID. How can I verify the VM ID from vSphere GUI? Is there a better way to track the VM I created using OVF Tool? Or can I use the VM Name instead? But I am worried of using the vm. Could there be duplicate names? may be on different server in the cluster? Please advise?
