Supported consumer network adapter

Hello, I am trying to install esxi v7.2, but it does not recognize my nic. What cheap consumer level nic is standard supported by esxi. I like to buy one, instead of trying to add an additional driver into the standard esxi installation file.

I have had luck with consumer Intel NICs, currently have a 82579LM on ESXi 7.0U3 box, it uses the NE1000 driver and I have had no issues with it.

Most Intel ne1000 cards works out of the box.

Some cards that is new on the market tends to lack support until VMware decides to add them.

However, there is a community supported native driver that adds these cards, you can also use a USB3 to Ethernet adapter.
Both of these drivers are available on VMware's Fling site
