Failed to start sps, vpxd, updatemgr, vsan-health services

I installed the log4j patch. When I ran the remove_log4j_class.py, all the services were stopped and started by the script. However, some services failed to start. The message:

Service-control failed. Error Failed to start vmon services.vmon-cli RC=1, stderr=Failed to start sps, vpxd, updatemgr, vsan-health services. Error: Operation timed out

I’ve reported your thread asking moderators to move it an area for vSphere security advisories.

@naveen2 Ideally executing the script will not create any issues with the service startup. We will have to check the logs of vpxd, vpxd-svcs to identify the reason for the service start failure. Is it feasible to create a support request ? or share log snippets here to review ?

@naveen2 Can you share the result of command 'service-control --status', this will help to understand the list of services running. Based on the list of stopped services, can share the next actions to check the log files
