Unable to power on VM in ESX3.5 (running in Workstation)

Hi All,

Here are the details of my Lab enviornment. I have a desktop with Windows 7. I have installed VMW9.

I have installed ESX 3.5.0 as a VM. I am also have another xp as a VM.

When I connected to the ESX 3.5.0 via VI Client then I am not able to power on VM inside ESX3.5.0

I have attached the details of the processor that it is running on

Same processor details are there in esx4.0 and then it powers on the machine.

Any suggestion

Thanks

Vaibhav

Hi,

Can you add following entries in vmx file of ESX 3.5

monitor_control.restrict_backdoor = TRUE
monitor_control.vt32 = TRUE
monitor.virtual_exec = "hardware"

vmx.allowNested = "TRUE".

Save the file.

Note : take back of vmx file before making any changes.

Please provide (attach) the ESXi VM's configuration (.vmx) file as well as its latest vmware.log file.
