Can i install Esxi 5.1 server as a Host on Esxi server 5.1 (Physical Server)

if the answer is Yes Then which OS Should i choose in the create new machine wizard ?

Yes.  Choose "Other 64-bit" in the new virtual machine machine wizard.  Before powering on the VM for the first time, edit the VM settings and change the guest OS type (under General Options) to "VMware ESXi 5.x".  Also, it's a good idea to add the following advanced configuration option (under Advanced->General->Configuration Parameters): vhv.enable = TRUE

i got this error:

<cpu_cores error: this host has {1} cpu core(s) which less

than recommended {2} cpu cores>

<validate_host_hw error:vendor vib fot hp found,but hot is

vmware, inc..>

*i have server "dl 360e"

Sounds like your physical server does not meet the requirements.  Can you post the specs of your server and cpu.

1. Configure the VM with at least 2 vCPUs.

2. Don't use a vendor-specific ESXi installation image.  Use the generic image from VMware.
