A question about nested virtualization.

Hello,

Nested virtualization in VMware working without any problem? Any experiences?

For example, I install a Windows OS in VMware ESXi or Workstation and inside this OS install a tool like VirtualBox and install another OS.

Thanks.

Hi,

I have a home lab where I work a lot with nested virtualization, mostly vmware products but I have also done some Hyper-V setups on it to compare functionalities.

And currently I have not encounter any issue with nested virtualization.

Hi,

If you have enough RAM and a modern processor then yes it works remarkably well.

edit: having more cores on your physical CPU helps too.. at least 4 physical cores preferably more.
