inside osp guide I have:
- remove previous version of VMware OSP
- install new version
(eg: yum install vmware-tools-nox)
- reboot and verify
Is the latest step truly necessary? In all cases or only if any particuar kernel module is used?
Can we narrow down eventually?
In my case on a test server I have 8.0.2-208167 and update to 8.3.12-493255 with remove/install

so it seems it successfully unloads vmci and vmmemctl and then load them with the new versions...
