Workstation Pro 12 - DS4 controller pair but does not connect to Ubuntu 14 VM

Please, someone could give me a light in how to solve it.

I am having this issue and it has been interesting because it simply does not work.

  • I tried the standard procedure that is configuring the VM to share Bluetooth with the Host. It pairs but does not connect.( when I go to Bluetooth settings I see connection OFF and can`t turn it ON).
  • I tried DS4DRV for Linux, and even forced trying :

ds4drv --hidraw --led 000008

It still does not connect

  • I tried using USB, it did not work. Did not recognize.

When I run Ubuntu native on my other devices it work very well.

I am actually using VMware to simulate running all Operating System involved in my robot. The PS4 controller is my fail safe in case my car escape me or something goes wrong. So I need it to work well on VMware first.

Connecting external devices to VMs has been a big issue for me, not the first time.

Obs.: my host is Windows 10, my bluetooth is Qualcomm and the driver is 4.1 . It has been working fine.
