VMware Tools on Fedora 15

I have been trying to install VMWare Tools on Windows Host/Guest Linux Fedora 15. I have tried both the commercial as well as open-vm-tools. Both os those do not work for this OS.

Looks like there is no stable version on vmware tools which can work on Fedora 15. Has anybody got it to work? I am on VMware workstatin 6.5.Though, I have tried it with the latest VM Player as well.

Some forum suggsted the following, but it did not work as well as vmware config fails to finish and errors out.

yum -y update
yum -y install gcc make kernel-headers kernel-devel
shutdown -r now
# wait some secs...
# login as root
/usr/bin/vmware-config-tools.pl

Tried this for VM open tools, but yum could not find the open-vm-tools installer.

Any help appreciated!

Your qouted text looks right (running the script) what errors do you see. I would advise against the second way...

I do know I am fighting issues with Linux kernel 3.1 and the vmhgfs or whatever not functioning but the tools themselves should install using the script.
