Ubuntu 16.04 enters boot manager when tried to boot from flat.vmdk file

Hi All,

I have created a vm in ESXi host using ubuntu16.04 iso image with UEFI boot(ubuntu16_uefi). Now i tried to create another ubuntu vm from flat.vmdk file of "ubuntu16_uefi" vm, but it is entering into the boot manager.

If i create a boot option from boot manager using grubx64.efi i can boot the vm.

Can someone help me how can i avoid this boot manager issue?

How exactly are you doing this? Did you copy/clone the VM, or files?
In case that you've copied the .vmdk files, did you also copy the .nvram file?

i'm using ADSF path selecting the container where the original vm is created.
