Memory leak in ubuntu 16.04/18.04

I'm running a cloud based management (runcloud) on my ubuntu server.
I freshly installed ubuntu 18.04. After an amount of time VPS memory usage goes from 500mb to 11-12 GB.
I tried to reinstall ubuntu 16.04, same thing happened.

Is this a known issue ? Is there a solution for this ? I'm just running a simple html file with one domain.
My provider is using Esxi.

Sounds like it probably has something to do with this application and nothing to do with the combination of Ubuntu and ESXi. You might start at the app layer first and figure out the source of this memory utilization.

Guest OS issue, not specific to ESXi.

My service provider fixed the problem. They said they have made changes in esxi settings. I really dont know the details.
