Check if the VM really has snapshots : following below KB
• Determining if a virtual machine is using snapshots (1004343) > http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1004343
There is a quick way you can run in a command in putty session and find out / confirm :
# vmware-cmd /vmfs/volumes/UUID/VMNAME/VMNAME.vmx hassnapshot
If the output displays a value of 1, a snapshot is present. If the output displays a value of 0, there is no snapshot present.
• Note : In esxi the above command might not work, and if you think above command is giving contradictory results just restart managements and see Restarting the Management agents on an ESX or ESXi Server (1003490) > http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1003490 .
If you find the VM already has snapshot try to commit them.
