Introduction (yadda, yadda, yadda)

Before I get to far, for anyone who actually takes the time to read this, let me explain who I am and what I do. My name is Tim Gibbs and I am a Principal Consultant for Sycom Technologies in Richmond, VA. From a technical standpoint, I specialize in virtualization and storage which, vendor wise is VMware and EMC Clariion arrays. I do work with other storage platforms, switches etc., depending upon the client and situation. For the VMware side I do everything from Capacity Planning Assessments, design and implement to health checks and troubleshooting. From the EMC side, I deal primarily with all things Clariion including replication, storage switching (setup, config, zoning, IP extensions) along with health checks and troubleshooting. I do some design work in this area as well.

Typically my projects combine both aspects, but sometimes they don't. Some of the more interesting projects that I have been involved with are major scripted installs (150 servers), fixing a major outage for a large (and well known) client who had been down for days prior and last, but not least, my current virtualization / DR project using VMware VI3, SRM, EMC AX4 arrays and MirrorView/A.

You may have seen some of my postings in the discussion groups here in the past and if you will notice, it has been a while!
