i am a pretty seasoned veteran in vmware. I just started working with VMware horizon 7. I deployed a windows linked clone solution and it works great.
I now want to create a Linux pool. ......(shaking my head in frustration).
I have created a centos 7 desktop VM and a ubuntu VM.
I download the agent and run the following-
./install-viewagent -b connectionbroker -d domain -u username -p password
The installation runs fine on both.
I go to Registered machines in View Administrator and nothing is there.
I have a ticket opened and they said that i have to have port 5443 open from the connection server to the agent. But what is strange, is that when i telnet to localhost TCP 5443, it states 'connection refused'. That sounds like the port is not listening on port 5443
I have all the proper ports open on the firewalls.
the connection server is on one vlan and the linux vm is on another.
what the hell is going on here? why is this so difficult?
The TCP port used for Linux VDI should be 22443 in Horizon 7. 5443 was used for a short time (till first GA release) in Linux VDI. If you still can't get through after enabling the port. Please collect and attach the agent side log bundle so we can have a look.
You can run "/usr/lib/vmware/viewagent/bin/dct-debug.sh" to generate the log bundle.
To remove –
sudo /usr/lib/vmware/viewagent/bin/uninstall_viewagent.sh
cd /
delete /etc/vmware/viewagent-machine.cfg
delete /etc/vmware/viewagent-config.txt
delete /etc/vmware/jms
delete /etc/vmware/ssl
deleted /usr/lib/vmware/viewagent/jre
deleted /usr/lib/vmware/viewagent/
After all the above was completed, I re-installed View agent 7.0 and it showed up in the admin
