why do calculator and sticky notes disappear.

Jump to solution

FRUSTRATION mounts with MS and VMWare.

How does something so simple as the calculator and sticky notes not work anymore.

I've re-installed on to the golden image via the MS store but when the pool is recomposed the applications are gone to the end users.

windows version 21h2 - FSLogix

Also - vmware windows optimizer turns off sounds. I've turned them back on but once recomposed out they are off for the end user. How do i get them to be on by default.

thanks.

Agree that its a pain.

We see this issue intermittently for users who are on FSLogix with instant clones. Typically we reinstall calculator via Powershell for those users and it works most of the times, but then it happens for the next user.

You can use the classic calculator and sticky notes from Windows 7 if that's a solution for you.

THANKYOU!! That is exactly what i needed.

It irritates me to no end when giant software corp's cant get simple things right and they don't bother fixing it. They have no idea the misery such little things can cause.

MS used to have this thing called Business Store where you could download appx packages for deployment. But nowadays they just say to use "Win-Get" and Windows Package Manager: Evolving the Microsoft Store for Business and Education - Microsoft Tech Community

I haven't tried it myself yet, though.
