hi guys
i am having a problem with getting view client to work on a 32 bit windows 7 laptop.
I am unable to change the connection server address even though I am administrator, I have uninstalled & removed manually folders which belong to vmware but when i re-install it still picks up the old server details and hence get a connection error!!
this is driving me nuts, where does it get this old info from?
btw - I have installed on a 64 bit win 7 laptop and am able to change the server info to make sure im not going mad...
please help
you must not be executing it from the right directory. Its not a global path variable so you have to go to the View Client directory.
C:\Program Files\Vmware\Vmware View\Client\Bin\
open a command prompt and go to that directory then type in that command i sent.

doh
ok did that but i get the same greyed out box with old server details (vdi.schoolname.local) the one im trying to access is called vdi.schoolname.com this is for remot access.
btw i did put the latter in the command prompt as you asked.
this is really bugging me out.
i even run a registry cleaner script on it, a url i got from the vmware help pages but did not work
Can you record your screen and email it to me gunnar@gunnarberger.com
Free recording software. I just want to see exactly what you are doing and the exact response.
