folks:
1. i have a laptop [win10 pro, 64-bit, 10.0.19044][horizon 5.4.2 build 15936851] works PERFECT
2. i have a desktop [win10 pro, 64-bit, 10.0.19043][horizon 8 build 2203] FAILS TO INSTALL
i tried all the downloads under Horizon7,8 on the website [former version on desktop was de-installed]
all anti-virus turned off - gets as far as updating C++, the vmware icon pops up, and then it fails
any chance someone has horizon 5.4.2 build 15936851?
thanks,
ron
You can try downloading and installing the C++ prior to installing the client. Try the following link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-US/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170
K526,
thanks, been buried a bit, but surfaced, cleaned up my win10 install (some bad spots on the ssd discovered by chkdsk and corrected), got everything square on updt to 22H2. downloaded and installed the C++ distributable for x86 & x64.
then
thought about 3 different posting and did everything suggested (posted again based on all that last nite - 11/12/2022). still dead in the water. added in the log files, maybe someone can make some sense on those. i read the log files but nothing registers since this is the first time i looked at them.
thanks though for your response, much appreciated.
