Welcome to the forums.  have you checked the logs available within the View Admin portal?   This may give a clue and if not we can then generate some additional logging to look through.   In the past I have seen issues like the clone failing to join the domain after provisioning cause this type of behavior.

This is common when the account you are using doesn't have access to add machines to the domain.  I would need to see the View Composer logs to verify this.

Another solution is to just restart your View Composer service (or resinstall it).

Again, shoot the logs over and that will help.

Logs we need are located on you vCenter server in:

C:\ProgramData\VMware\View Composer\Logs

I typed that from memory so it may be a bit off, but that's the gist.

The below found in the logs

"erviceCore.Action.AddToAdDomainAction - Error: fail to execute AddToAdDomainAction,guest:windows7demo1, AD config Id:74db67d2-0bd8-43f7-973e-8ef76ffe2916. AD FQDN: porsuk.anadolu.edu.tr
VMware.Sim.CommonLib.Exception.SimAdsException: A constraint violation occurred.
---> System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryServicesCOMException (0x8007202F): A constraint violation occurred."

I would double check that the account specified in quick prep is setup correctly so that it can join computers to your domain.

When using quickprep you should not run sysprep.exe before closing the machine, just run a ipconfig /release and shutdown the machine.

Ok, but does the account you have setup in Quickprep settings have access to join computers to the domain?

ersinkaya,

What Linjo said above is how View works, so it shouldn't be a matter of "you tried testing it this way" it should be that this is the only way you'd go about doing Linked Clones.  I state this because I'd like to know for sure that you've gone back to the beginning and built your Master Image then simply shut it down and taken a snapshot and starting to compose.  If you know for sure that this is what you did and you get the error you posted then great, but I'm thinking the error you posted was on a sysprep'd image.  You might get the same failed results on a non-syspreped image but the error could be very different.  So can you please go through the process again and post your error so we know for sure this error is not coming from a sysprep'd image.

Thank you,

Gunnar
