Hi All,

I am doing vmview composer with linked clones, after creating desktop in desktop pool, it starts creating a linked clone of that VM in desktop sources...this machine which is in desktop sources remains in customization state only......how to proceed further....

Anyone kindly help....

here is a KB with some troubleshooting steps on stuck customizing. I've seen it before but mine has cleared up after a reboot.

What is the scheme of addresses the clones are getting? Is it the Microsoft private addresses of 169.X

I've mainly had stuck "customizing" around guest VM network issues -- whether it be DNS, VLAN, IP #'s, etc. something at a network level was keeping the View Agent from responding back to View Manager that the VM was ready.

Hiii,

I will explain my network scenario....There is one dhcp server with 192.168.10.X ,this is used for other purpose. My LAN network range is in 192.10.210.X which doent have dhcp server.

When the linked clones are created it was getting 192.168.10.x series ip range and then it gets failed since it was not able to resolve with DNS as well as not able to connect to the LAN network and two more linked clones strated creating and automatically its taking 192.10.210.x series IP range...how is it possible as there is no DHCP server with that range....and i am not getting 169.x.x.x ip range.

Strange, it should get a DHCP address unless a DHCP server is responding to it. Did you happen to build your master image on the network with the 192.168.10.X address? If so did you do an ipconfig /release on the master image before you shutdown and created the snapshot?
