vmdk addition to vmware VDI

HI,

we are using vmware VDI 4.0.1 for desktop virtualization. one of our user want 80 gb hard disk with vdi .currently we are using master image of 20 GB with cdrive only. and we allocate 10 gb of one more drive for user date with VDI. now how can we add this to specific vdi and how we will manage this when we do refresh or recompose operation .do the data will be safe after thease operation

Hi,

Mapped Drives - if this is user data and not additional application installs (which would break when a recompose is done anyway) then this is the most efficient way to address this problem - the mapping will persist between recompose operations as it's held in his profile. Performance will be a little less as files will be opened over the network but the alternative is to change the whole pool for this one user or take his desktop out of the pool and provision it separately.
