today i installed the connection server, agent and client 4.5 in our environment.
In our old setup we had a desktop pool that had sso installed through the view agent and a desktop pool that we use for research and small projects with sso not installed so that we can use test users.
In the 4.5 agent installation i don't see the sso option anymore and thus the desktop uses sso.
Did this setting move somewhere else or how can i keep 1 pool free of sso in 4.5?
We now automatically install our SSO packages always, but you can still disable SSO through an Agent GPO. See the GPO template for more information.
I knew about the GPO but it never did much for me and it never needed to cause i had set it at the agent on the 2 different pools.
I went out on a troubleshooting spree and ended up with the following.
The GPO was rightly targetted towards the virtual workstations but didn't get applied somehow.
Group Policy resultant wizard didn't work at first cause the firewall was enabled on the virtual workstation. (RPC service unavailable message)
Disabling the firewall made it possible to see the status of group policies.
It showed the view GPO as denied cause of a false WMI filter.
Making a long story short the firewall was blocking the WMI check. Putting the firewall service to manual and rebooting the virtual machine resolved the issue.
After the reboot the WMI filter was succesfull and the proces halted at the login screen of the virtual machine just like i wanted it to so we can have users login to the view client with their own credentials and security measures and then login the virtual testmachine with a test user so that their own profile doesn't pick up all testing stuff.
Disable the firewall on the virtual workstation for WMI filters to apply and the GPO to be applied.
