Is this a replacement for AV on the VMView box? If so, who provides the antigen?

It replaces the AV for the guest VM. I haven't had a chance to install it yet so I'm not sure about the specifics of the AV on the endpoint appliance.

Excellent. I also read that the edge server has to be on each host, does that mean if you have 10 ESXi host you have to an edge server on each ESXi host?

• Edge security and services are maintained within the host where the edge appliance is deployed. If the virtual appliance were moved to another host, the edge security policies would need to be updated.

I'm not sure about the edge appliance but I do remember hearing something like the endpoint appliance would have to be on each host. Of course I heard a lot at VMworld. Hope the admin guide is out soon for clarification.
