user profiles on conection server...

Hi,

In View 4.6, is it normal to see user profiles on the connection servers under the local profile path (C:\users)?

It's not even all users, just around 40%, randomly split accross the NLB connection servers???

Thanks......

C:\users is typically reserved for people that have actually l logged into the OS.   Do you have a lot of people logging in to the actual server OS of the connection server?

It is NOT normal to see all the user profiles logged onto the connection servers; UNLESS they are all logging onto them, which they shouldn't be.

No, that's what's odd.  No one except admin logs on locally to the connection servers.  Because it's not all users, we're just investigating the affected profiles to see if there's a pattern.  I'll post back if I find anything interesting.

Thanks.....

There is no logical pattern to which user is on which connection server.  It's quite random and I have a couple of users showing profiles on both connection servers???

Whilst investigating a came across something that may indicate a configuration issue.   I have 2 connection servers (conA and ConB) , both using a NLB

cluster so clients connect via the single cluster address, but within View Administrator (4.6) -> Monitoring -> Remote Sessions,  I have all my connections listed, some have a ConA listed under 'Security Gateway' and some have ConB listed, but about 1/2 my sessions have nothing listed under 'Security Gateway.   There seems to be no link to the profiles listed, but I'm now interested to see why this would be?  I'm going home now cos I feel like $4!T so I can maybe pick this up again tomorrow!!!   til then.....cheers

did you ever find a resolution to the issue with the profiles being stored on the connection server?  We are seeing the same thing.

Hi, I think we cleared them originally by deleting the profiles (back up first of course) then doing the following on each connection server.

1. Open the Local Group Policy Editor by typing gpedit.msc in the Run box.

2. Navigate to Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > User Rights Assignment.

3. Change Allow log on locally from "Administrators,Users,Backup Operators" to just "Administrators" or "Administrators, Backup Operators".

I know this cleared the profile folders and stopped them being recreated, although I've just looked on the connection servers and each user now has a 256KB unreadable file under c:\users.  I'm going move them and if no probs, I'll delete them.

Hi

Same problem here... I have found that the userprofile is only created when a user must change the domain password.

User try to logon to a view session and have to change the password (password expired). Immediately after the change of the password on the view manager the user profile is created under c:\users

Have anyone already open a Support Case?

Best regards

Simon

we also see it when users are changing passwords.  I don't have a support case open, but I have an email to an internal resource.  I'll let you know if he sends me anything.
