tracking internal vs. external connections

I am trying to find a way to track internal (on-premise thin/zero clients) and external (off-premise View Client) connections. Does VMware track View connections by client IP address? I don't see any information in the events db regarding client ip address. This seems like a trivial thing to me and either I'm missing it or VMware didn't include much detail for tracking connections...?

View doesn't track it but it is available under the HKCU\Volatile Environment  on the VDI machine.

In the Desktops section of the Inventory area users can be tracked by filtering by user..

You don't track the client IP that a particular user is  coming from.

What I'm trying to get an idea of is how many people are using thin/zero clients and how many are connecting using their own device and the View client. IP address is (to me) a potential way to track this, but it doesn't have to be IP - I just want to have basic connection information/reports, this is not too much to ask.

Hi!

What i would try to monitor would be the open connections through TCP port 3389 and 4172 from external to view connection server. That way you would see how many connections are made from external to your view environment.

greetz,

Matthias
