This is a digital wayfinding signage situation. Each sign is on it's own VM to display a particular sign; the zero clients act as end terminals to actually display the sign on a large touch monitor.
One zero client refuses to connect to its 'assigned' VM and diagnostics shows the message above.
View Administrator web console shows status of "Connected."
Teradici PCoIP Management Console shows status of "Online" but "Not in Session."

What is the best practice course of action to correct this situations?
I think the easiest thing to check is whether the issue is on the zero client or on the VDI machine. Once you determine which end the issue is on you can focus your troubleshooting there.
Issue has been corrected. Had to remove and re-add the VM to the pool, take care of an extemporaneous IP/MAC error and then it worked again.
