supporting HeadSets in RDSH Hosted Application

Hello,

we want to provision Lync as a RDSH Hosted Application, but at the moment only mass storage USB devices are supported for redirection in View RDSH sessions. For Lync we need the Support of Headsets. Does someone know when this will be supported or if the support is on any Roadmap?

You never want to use USB redirection for a mic or webcam because USB redirection for audio and video doesn't work well.  In VDI desktops, we have RTAV, we does encoding of audio/video from webcams and mics on the client and then sends it back to the VDI desktop.  Unfortunately, RTAV isn't supported for RDSH yet.

For the Lync 2013 client, Microsoft has a Lync VDI plugin that performs media processing on the client endpoint.  This only works for VDI today.

I can't comment specifically on roadmaps on this alias.  Rest assured that it is an important use case for us.
