serial port redirection esxi5

I cannot get serial port redirection to work on a 2003 vm running on esxi5

I added a serial port

/dev/char/serial/uart0

in the vmx file I have

serial0.present = "TRUE"                                                                               

serial0.yieldOnMsrRead = "FALSE"                                                                       

serial0.fileName = "/dev/char/serial/uart0"                                                            

serial0.fileType = "device" 

anything else I need to get this to work?

ok when i moved it to comm1 it worked.
