Hi Asha.

First the official line that realtime VOIP like MS Lync is not supported and don't scale well in any VDI solution.

Inoffically this can work but will demand a lot of bandwith and cpu and might not scale as well as you want.

I have tried a few times and got it working in small scale.

What kind of input do you use? Analog or USB connected?

What display protocol? PCoIP or RDP?

Hi,

I tested with USB head sets, lync calls are working fine with USB headset. But we don't have USB headsets to provide all the users, how can we make normal headsets to work with VDI systems

Again, not supported from VMware but Teradici have an alternate audio-driver that you could try for analog audio.

Create an account at techsupport.teradici.com and download their "Teradici Virtual Audio Driver 1.1.0", then install the driver and choose it as "Default Source" in the vDesktop

Does windows detect it as microphone? It might be detected as speakers only and then MS Lync won't find it suitable.

Did you do any tweaks when using Lync with view?

We are planning to try our Lync solution currently working on fat clients out in our view environment with usb headsets.
