are there any plans to have Linux OS virtual desktops (i.e. View Agent installable in Linux VMs)?

I haven't heard any plans but often times new features aren't discussed in the public forums.  Your best bet is to sign an NDA with VMware and then have your SE give you a View roadmap.

I'm not working for VMware but from what I heard, something like that.

Plus, most of the time, these kind of details are under NDA and are not public. You can ask as a customer, to be involved into beta programs. If you're a partner, you can get details from your local point of contact or into the VMware Partner Portal.
