new view desktops contantly reconfiguring

Hi,

We've had a view connect/security server instance up for quite a long while now...  recently a colleague cloned some 32bit windows 7 VMs and added them to a training pool.  (sounds like a scenario off the exam eh :slightly_smiling_face:

Since he did that, all of the VMs that he cloned keep being reconfigured by the connection server, once a minute or so.  The existing VMs work fine.  If I remove the VM from the pool, it stops reconfiguring it so I know it is the Connection server that is initiating this.

I have googled and seen problem relating to moving to a new connection server and ldap replication failing, but that does not apply here we have not changed connection server.  I have also seen that the clone may have svga.settings in the incorrect case and that causes it to keep trying to reconfigure, but I have not found these svga settting in my vmx at all...  this is vmware view 5.3 and the agents are a mix of 5.3 and 5.2, but there is no correlation to the 5.2 agents and the reconfiguring desktops.

There are 10 of these and they are used for training and I am loathe to start all over with them - but unless someone can give me some advice on it, looks like I may have to   thanks

Bill

well, took one of the VMs out and put it in another pool, rebooted the connection server and reaffirmed the vc server user password for connecting to the vcserver, and one of those fixed it apparently as it's gone now.  Normally wouldn't do that but the whole reason it needed to be done is there was another problem ongoing and this was rippling thru the tasks so often that we couldn't catch the other problem...

If you are on a later version of View I've seen Sparse disks cause this issue.

You can disable them very easy to test.
