move entire view environment to new luns

I need to move my entire environment to different luns due to a san that's starting to fail and needs to be repaired.

For the servers I will just do a storage vmotion to the new luns.

However I am wondering how to proceed with the view 4.5 environment included.

I am running Vsphere 4 enterprise plus with Vcenter

My view setup consists of view composer, linked clones and persistent HD's.

I need to retain all data ( the persistent disks )

Can someone point me to a procedure how to move a full view environment using linked clones ?

Hi,

For server (connection server, transfer server, view composer, vc) perform a storage VMotion.

Perform the same for manual pool VMs.

For linked clone pools:

-Edit the pools

-Uncheck the existing datastore  selection

-Select new datastores

-Perform a rebalance  operation

This should move all linked clone desktops to new datastore.

thanks this sounds like the good way to go

just to verify, by deselecting the current luns and adding the new ones and afterwards doing a rebalance, my current persistent disks will be moved over also ?

Yes, the persistent disks (user data disks) also will be moved, and the user data will be preserverd.

Thanks,

The VM`s will not rebalance if users are still connected.
