Hello,
we have deployed location based printing
- installed printer drivers in template
- configured printer ports in template
- configred gpo
All works fine, printers get mapped according to ip range etc.
But printers seem to get mapped in for example black and white - portrait setting.
User changes settings, for example, color and landscape in the printer as default settings.
when he logs off and on again, the first settings are set back.
It seems that when a user defines settings, these are not remembered.
Is there a way so the settings are kept?
Is anyone has some experience on this?
thanx
How are you GPO's configured? It could be that the settings are enforce in every login.

the gpo was indeed put on enforce but the problem remains.
I should think this would be stored in the profile of the user, or not?
make sure that inheritance is blocked for that OU, otherwise it will still apply
I have also opened a case with VMware.
This is their responds
I believe that what you are experiencing is well expected behaviour and you cannot save user preferences with location based printing when using ThinPrint. This is a limitation on behalf of Cortado.
Is this something that you are looking for
You can use the driver field to enter the target of the printer and just remove the IP address all together. I have had better luck that way with keeping settings and the print spooler not dying. Not sure why that isn't documented somewhere.
