installing view composer 5 - sql studio not seeing DBase

Im trying to install view composer 5...i installed sql studio express and when i fire it up and put localhost in for the server name it says it cant connect...thus i cant create the viewcomposer dbase...any ideas?

I don't think this is a VMware problem, but, you are sure the account you are using to access the SQL Server has the appropriate permissions?

Is this the SQL Express that is installed with vCenter?   If so you can try this document,  http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-14438
