how to do patching of ThinApp packages

Basically i did a packages of Several applications like Reader , Visio  2010 , Project 2010 etc and same has been stream to my View Pools . After 1 or 2 weeks some patches published for Adobe reader, Visio & project . Now as per policies i need to install the patches for these applications.

My question is should i have to do again ThinApp of these applications with security patches installed and after that i have remove initial package and add a new package to my thinapp repository  ?

Or is there any good way to do patching

You can use Package Replacement method by replacing the old package with new package since you are streaming thinapps. However ensure that the path and package name is exactly same.

Other method could be to AppSync your packages. You may like to follow Page 22-23 of following guide

or page 8-9 of http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/VMware-IG-ViewThinApp-EN.pdf

Repackage the new TA package.  If you packaged it in .EXE, copy the new package to the same directory as the current package.  Now rename the new package so it has the exact same name as the old pack, however add .1 after the .EXE.

This is the coolest way to update a TA.
