design-number of IP Address per subnet determines the size of the pool

The number of IP addresses available for the subnet limits the number of desktops in the pool. For example, if your network is set up so that the subnet for the pool contains only 256 usable IP addresses, the pool size is limited to 256 desktops. With Horizon View 5.2 you can, however, configure multiple network labels to greatly expand the number of IP addresses assigned to virtual machines in a pool.

I am a little lost.  Can someone please explain how available IP address's in a subnet relates to a poo.  When I create a pool at no point does it every ask me for an IP address.  After it boots up, it sends out a broadcase, hey I need any IP, and if there are some available he will get one.  I guess what I am getting at is  either a dhcp server or multiple dhcp servers exist someone will answer if they have one avialalbe.  Why would an IP address from not the same range cause view not to deploy a VM.

So wht am I missing.

The thought behind that is that if you don't have enough ip addresses to allocate to the pool than some desktops will not have connectivity.    If there is no connectivity then those desktops aren't going to be available for use.
