Hi,
We have around 140 seats with View 4.5 and HP 5740 thin clients.
All working great, but i'm searching for a solution.
All HP thin clients have 2 monitors, and i want people to autoconnect to a specific pool with the multimonitor option enabled.
default is Select a pool and Full Screen. but I want to force a specific pool and Multimonitor. Is this even possible to force this? searched Group Policy options but no option is available.
Please help!
There are command line options for the VMware View Client.
To specify the window for display use: -desktopLayout window_size
Where windowsize can be;
- fullscreen
- multimonitor
- windowLarge
- windowSmall

Why do you need to specify a pool for multiple monitors?
In View 4.0 'Fit to Client' was introduced. This automatically adjusts the screen resolution of the Virtual Desktop depending upon the client a user is connecting from. This is useful when users are roaming and accessing the hosted virtual desktops from multiple client configurations. If the user exits from full screen View will adjust the screen as required.
Simply set the pool to use a maximum number of monitors you require and View will take care of the rest.

I just want the dropdown menu in the View Client to default to Multimonitor instead of Fullscreen.
If a user with a thin client with 2 monitors logs in with Full Screen, they only have 1 monitor working.
