connection server

Hi

Am new to Horizon, currently we have a server with esxi 6.5, horizon 7.4 connection server and vcenter with 30 w10 instant clones. We have another physical server where we just want to install win 2012 without esxi so that we can have another connection server. Is this possible and how can we link this to the vcenter we currently have.

Any advise on these will be appreciated

A connection server can be physical or a VM but I would avoid a physical whenever possible. You first need to make sure all the physical is joined to the same domain and has all of the necessary firewall rules. Once done you just need to install the same version of the connection server on the physical machine, select that it will be a replica server and point it to one of the existing connection servers to replicate the ADAM database (If this is a Cloud Pod setup additional steps are needed). You may also need to configure certain settings on the connection server that are not part of the ADAM database (secure gateway config, ini files on the server, etc..).

in addition... the new server in such scenario is passive  and will not receive connection request for vDesktops , unless you provide load balancer and to put both connection server behind it
