Hi,
my vCenter Server and ESX is Version 4.1U1
my View is 4.6
now i will only update my composer to 2.7, so i can update my vCenter Server to 5
i read, composer is not running on vCenter Server 5
can i only update the composer and view 4.6 (server administrator, agent, client) is running?
i will later update from view 4.6 to 5
You know you can upgrade your vcenter to v5 without upgrading any of the View components. I tested this last week and it works fine. COmposer stayed at 2.6. The composer upgrade was a bit dodgy though. It removed it completely! need to try it a few more times
Hi JoJo,
according to this KB Article it is not recommended, not to mention supported, to install vSphere 5 if you have a View 4.6 environment in place, the Composer 2.6 seems to be the culprit.
I hope the new View 5 License show up soon in the Licensing Portal. I can´t wait to upgrade to vSphere 5. ![]()
Best regards,

Ah, thanks for that. Appeared to work, but if its not supported, I'm not doing it
