automatic desktop provisioning fails

Hi,

We have a weird issue with automatic desktop deployment in VMView 4 (linked clones). The process successfully creates linked clones (they are visible in VSphere client) then fails when it tries to reconfigure the VMs with an error:

UFA error: fail to finish init disk operation for disk: datastore: xxxxxx/xxxxxxxx-vdm-user-disk-D.vmdk, host: xxxx.com , port: 902.

UFA error: failure in operation with soap fault: SysimageFaultFileOpenErrorFault

Any ideas?

Thanks,

ess

I had an error very similar to that when I first tried link clones, my issue was caused by an oversight on my part as I had forgotten to update my vCenter to the latest version. Not sure if that is your issue or not, but figured I'd share.

Hi Ess.

Have not seen this before..

Could you tell me the version of ESX and vCenter?

What kind of storage are you using and how many ESX hosts?

Best regards,

Linjo

Hmm... Still the same error.

Checked the versions:

esx build 208167

vcenter 208111

vmfs - 3.33

Are these correct?

Thanks,

ess

Those are the exact versions I'm running so you are good as far as that is concerned.
