XP Tweak Question

Do any of you guys apply these tweaks to your golden image?

VDI –Best PracticesWindows XP

Disable ControlAltDeleteto bring up logon screen

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

“DisableCAD”=dword:00000001

Improve Windows Kernel Memory Management

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management

“DisablePagingExecutive”=dword:00000001

Launch Windows Desktop as a Separate Process

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer

“DesktopProcess”=dword:00000001

Q811080Disable the logon screen saver

“ScreenSaveActive”=dword:00000000VDI

I do the 1st one, but have not tried the other 3. Not sure how much it would improve performance...

I agree with the first, I would also do the 4th one as I would rely on the built in screen saver of the device to manage the security portion, and this would cut down unneeded Processor cycles. also have a look and DABCC.COM and look at the hacks and tweeks for a terminal server as the principles are very similar in a VDI envrionment.
