Working, then black screen, then working again (Possible PCoIP issue?)

Hello,

We are using P20's with firmware 3.5 in a View 4.6 environment.

I'm starting to notice as well as get reports from users that their screen will go black for 1-2 seconds, then return to their desktop. This can happen as much as once every couple of hours.

I have only noticed this happen on systems with dual monitors (could be irrelevant, not sure at this point).

Any suggestions as to where to start troubleshooting?

Thanks!

-Pete

Do you have a specific video driver installed on the base image or do you use rotation software?

As for a video driver, just the VMware driver, screenshot attached... Also, no we are not using any rotate software.

Thanks,

I checked my  video driver and Im on VMWare SVGA II  version 11.x.x

Could it be an older video driver? Also Im using VMware and View 5 so that could be why the difference.

We have had 1 report of this today in a View 5 deployment, just for note Pete does have the correct driver for Version 4.6. I have not yet had a chance to start fault finding this so can't give you much other help, we are looking at the browser lag on View 5 which is annoying and there is a suggested fix of adding "mks.poll.headlessRates = 1000 100 2" to the end of the vmx file but this hasn't helped, though as it's to do with console polling I wonder if it may have relevance with your problem?

Please keep in mind that I'm on View 4.6, with the View 4.6 agent being used...

Haven't upgraded to 5.0 yet.

Thanks,

sorry to say that our one turned out to be a good old fashioned hardware fault with the monitor.

Just an update on this post...

I reached out to Teradici on this issue. They said it was a known issue with View 4.6 and they provided me with a new pcoip_server_win32.exe file. This will replace the default file that is installed with the View Agent.

This fixed our issue.

glad that worked for you, I got that file too for our screen "Lag" issue but it hasn't helped much.
