Winscribe and View

Trying to get Winscribe 4 working in a virtual desktop coming through a security server (thus using RDP). I modified the registry and was able to get the foot pedal HID seen by the Windows 7 VM, able to connect to to and from a Windows stand point all is good. Winscribe will not recognize the foot pedal though. Also the sound is horrible. It is choppy and plain awful. But, if I play any wav or mp3 file from Windows Media Player it sounds great and Windows sounds sound fine also. Anyone had any luck getting winscribe to work? Any experience with these issues?

thanks

Hi Craig,

Thanks for your technical enquiry. WinScribe is compatible with both RDP and virtual technologies. WinScribe has been tested in VirtualBox, MSVirtual PC & VMWare environments and works well as long as the virtual engine supports devices e.g the host OS must be able to “pass thru” the USB pedal to the guest OS. This may be your first problem. Another problem you may be hitting is the RDP session does require our special driver to be installed. Our driver is called the “Terminal Services thin client connector” and it must be installed on terminal server and terminal client. Its job is to route pedal and audio from the server to the client. E.g when a typist presses play on the pedal plugged into the terminal session, this signal needs to be transmitted all the way to the server to instruct audio to play and then it routes the audio packets back to the terminal session speakers at high quality mode. You can find the driver on our DVD and it’s free of charge. After installing it, the audio jitter should disappear and your pedal should work fine. Hope this helps, and please don't hesitate to contact us if you need further assistance.
