I have a Persona pool setup that I've applied both optimization scripts referenced in
https://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/VMware-View-OptimizationGuideWindows7-EN.pdf
to my baseline image. The one odd thing is that shortcuts for Windows Explorer and Command Prompt are missing from the Start Menu. I can type in "explorer" or "cmd.exe" in the search box of the Start Menu and it will find them, but the original icons in the Start Menu are missing.
Both icons are present on the baseline image. It's the clones in the Persona Pool that are missing them.
btw, the OS for this pool is Windows 7 SP1 (x86).
Thanks for any help anyone can offer!!
Are you doing any type of folder redirection that would cause them to be missing? What if you login with a local user not setup for persona does it have the correct icons?
I'm doing plenty of folder redirection:
AppData
Desktop
Downloads
Favorites
Documents
My Music
My Pictures
My Videos
but I've also made sure to enable "Roam local settings folders" per recommendation in the PDF I noted earlier.
I will try local login shortly and see what I see.
When I RDP directly into one of the pooled VM's as the local administrator of that VM, all the icons are there. Does that mean my forwarding is missing something?
