Windows 7 64bit on view 4.0.1 build-233023 and esx 4.0.0 261974

We will soon be upgrading to 4.5 but in the mean time ive been asked to look at windows 7, I can create this vm fine, and can create a manual single computer to it fine and log onto this via a Thin Client using view. But when it comes to creating a automated pool with linked clones it wont see the Parent VM at all, lists all my old XP golden images but not the windows 7 one.

Is it just not compatible with the above versions or am i missing something? I have followed this http://www.vmadmin.co.uk/vmware/53/241-view4win7deployguide but still no joy.

Thanks for any help.

Hi Buz,

same problem here.

Your version of VMware View with this Buildnumber supports only Windows 7 32-bit OS.

We must upgrade to View 4.5 too.

You can find supported OS in View Admin Guide on page 19

http://www.vmware.com/files/de/pdf/support/VMware-view401-vdmadmin-DE.pdf

Hope this helps.

It was  a powered off snapshot, i even tried a powered on one just for the sake of it too.

Im guessing then that this should be possible with the versions im running.
