Windows 2003 Supported?

Hi.

I'm testing the VMware View 4.0.1.

I want to deploy a windows 2003 r2 template to many user. But only the Windows XP VMs running on my vCenter listed in the Desktop Source Selection. I cannot select any VM running with Windows 2003 R2.

Is that Win2003R2 supported?

Thanks.

You can only use Windows 2003 if it's in terminal server mode. You can view all the supported systems on Page 18 of the admin guide.

No, Windows 2003 R2 is not supported in such case. You can add VM with Win 2003 R2 only with installed role Terminal Server

See more detail in View Manager 4.0.1 Administration Guide on p. 18.

They key here is 'desktop' support only. 2003 is not a desktop OS.
