Will moving vm folders to a new datacenter break VMware View pools?

We have a some View folders and ESXi hosts we would like to move to a different datacenter within the same vCenter.  Will doing so affect the pools of desktops already created in VMware View?  Is View intelligent enough to pick up the changes and edit the paths to the vms or would new desktop pools need to be created?

I haven't tested it since the earlier versions but View used to have a lot of issues when you moved folders around.   If these are composer enabled pools it would probably be best to go ahead and recompose them into the new datacenter.

I know when you change paths to snapshots View gets confused but you can just fix the path by editing the pool.  I'm thinking you'll end up having to edit all your pools when you change DC, unfortunately I don't have mulitple DC in my lab to test for you.  I would guess that you'd have to edit though.

There is an issue if you rename the datacenter and pools exists with referance to the old datacenter name.

So please do not rename the datacenter. You can always edit the pool settings and select new data center, and along with new parent vm, default snapshot, storage resource pol etc.

You have to then perform a rebalance operation
