I am experiencing extreme flickering and 30-90 second lag spikes where everything just hangs after upgrading to El Capitan.
My VDI is basically unusable in El Capitan. I am not so sure the View client released 9/3 is all that compatible with El Capitan at all...
Anyone experienced this as well? Any work arounds?

Some of guys are back for national holidays and we found the root cause.
There is no easy workaround for this. And we'll need a new release for addressing this issue.
Ref the following thread: View Client in OS X 10.11 El Capitan Beta
I downgraded to the 1.7 client, and that works with one screen at least....
As funny as it may seem, I am now using a VM in Parallels in Full screen mode on all monitors, to run the Windows Horizon View client... to get the VDI working on all 3 monitors.
Our team who is responsible for this client is on holiday right now but I will ask around and have them comment on this thread. The El Capitan beta was on our official testing matrix and I know some developers who are on the El Capitan GA.
To narrow down the issue more, when things are unusable, is any process listed in Activity Monitor as hogging the CPU?
John, what kind of video card do you have? And are you running 10.11 or 10.11.1 beta? I was pointed to an internal bug tracking problems with Nvidia video cards and am curious if that's what you have.
I upgraded my iMac with a NVIDIA GeForce GT 755M 1024 MB see the flicker and delay problems mentioned with Version 3.5.0 (2999900) of the Horizon client running in fullscreen. I'm running it as a window and it seems to be OK.
I am running 10.11.
I have two video cards.
The integrated Intel Iris Pro (4000 I think? The Haswell one).
And additionally a NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M.
I have the 15-inch Late 2013 Macbook Pro model.
I have 3x 24" external monitors connected. Samsung - with 1920x1200 resolution.
I am not using the Macbook monitor at work. Only the external ones.
2 monitors are connected through Thunderbolt and the 3rd one through HDMI.
About the processes: vmware-remotemks is taking 5-10% CPU and 220MB memory... Nothing special....
Also, I can`t help to find it a bit funny that the whole team is on holiday...
...at the specific time that Apple releases their new OS X version
I'm have the exact same issue as reported above. I also run 3 monitors in full screen. I upgraded to El Capitan this weekend and VMView 3.5 has not worked on full screen since then. I loaded several older versions but having the same results. I'm running a mid 2012 MacBook Pro 15inch. It has an NVIDIA GT 650M graphics card.
Soon, uh, they still on holiday or are they back yet?
Please trying to change rotation to 90 degree for the external monitor as workaround.
I tried this workaround on my iMac (NVIDIA GeForce GT 755M) and Macbook Pro with Retina 15" (NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M), and it becomes better.
Thanks.

Any estimate on when the release date will be?

Just installed the client that was released yesterday (3.5.2), and can confirm that it solved my issue at least.
