Using display protocol PcoIP results in a black screen for some seconds, and the view4 clients shuts down.

on the virtiual desktop I find the error messsage in c:\windows\temp\pcoip_server_2009_11_27_00000bfc.txt

What ESX version are you running on? (Supported is ESX 3.5 U3/U4, vSphere 4 U1)

What was the order of install? (Should be VMware tools first, then View Agent. Allow it to reboot twice)

Best regards,

Linjo

Hi rvb,

we encountered the same problem over here and fixed it by opening port 50002 UDP which is used by PCoIP on our firewall.

Best regards,

Lars

I re-installed in the order VMware tools first, then View Agent and it worked.

I'm seeing the desktop screen now.

Thanxks for the hint

I was having the same issue. Adding a Windows XP firewall exception for port 50002 UDP fixed my problem as well....

This may seem like an obvious check, but it's one I missed Smiley Wink

I only had 8 MB of video RAM configured for the guest and changing it to 32 MB fixed the issue I was having. I could RDP with the View4 Client, but trying PCoIP gave me a black screen that soon disconnected.

Hope this helps someone who might have overlooked that setting...
